Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026 · PIPEDA & CASL Compliant

MS Property Solutions, operating as Maid Simple Cleaning (“Maid Simple,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our customers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under Canadian privacy law. By using our website or services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information. When you request a quote or book a cleaning, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and home address. This information is required to schedule and deliver your service.

Home & Service Details. We collect information about your home (number of bedrooms, bathrooms, home size, access instructions, and any special cleaning notes) to provide an accurate quote and a tailored cleaning experience.

Payment Information. Payment card details are processed and stored securely by Stripe, our PCI-compliant payment partner. Maid Simple does not store, process, or have direct access to your full card number at any time.

Automatically Collected Data. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and session duration. This data is used only to improve the website experience.

Communications. If you contact us by phone, email, or through our website, we retain records of those communications to provide follow-up support and resolve any concerns you raise.

Phone Call Recordings. When you call us or receive a call from Maid Simple, your call may be recorded for quality assurance, training, dispute resolution, and compliance purposes. Recordings are stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel. If you prefer not to be recorded, please let our representative know at the start of the call, or contact us by email or through our website instead.

2. How We Use Your Information

Service Delivery. We use your contact and home details to schedule, confirm, and deliver your cleaning service. Your address and cleaning instructions are shared with your assigned cleaning professional for each booking.

Booking Management. We use your information to send booking confirmations, pre-clean reminders, arrival notifications, and post-clean follow-ups. These are transactional messages tied to your active service — they are not optional for active bookings.

Marketing Communications. With your consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we may send you promotional offers, seasonal updates, and service announcements. You can withdraw this consent at any time.

Service Improvement. Anonymized and aggregated usage data helps us understand how customers find and use our website, which services are most popular, and how to improve the booking experience.

Legal Compliance. We may use or retain your information as required by Canadian law, including for tax documentation, insurance records, or in response to a lawful legal request.

3. Who We Share With

Maid Simple does not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

Cleaning Professionals. Your name, address, cleaning instructions, and access notes are shared with the cleaning professional assigned to your booking. They do not receive your payment details. Cleaners on our platform are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Payment Processing. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you enter card details, you are interacting directly with Stripe's secure, PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure. Maid Simple does not see or store your full card number.

Voice Services. We may use AI-assisted voice technology to facilitate booking calls and appointment confirmations. If you receive a call from Maid Simple, that call may be processed through a third-party voice platform. Call recordings are retained for quality assurance purposes as described in Section 1.

CRM & Scheduling. We use a customer relationship management system to store your booking history, contact details, and service preferences. This enables us to manage your recurring appointments and keep a record of your service history.

Automation Tools. We use automation tools internally to route notifications, manage booking workflows, and coordinate between our team. These tools process your booking data on our behalf and are bound by data processing agreements.

Business Transfers. If Maid Simple is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In such cases, the receiving party will be subject to confidentiality obligations and will be required to handle your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

4. CASL Compliance

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) regulates commercial electronic messages (CEMs), including promotional emails and SMS messages. It requires that we obtain your consent before sending marketing communications.

We obtain your express consent at the time of booking or sign-up for any marketing communications. Express consent is obtained through a clearly labeled opt-in at the time of booking, which is separate from the booking confirmation itself. You will always know what you are consenting to, and consent is separate from transactional service messages.

Transactional messages — including booking confirmations, service reminders, post-clean follow-ups, and support communications — are sent on the basis of our existing business relationship and do not require separate marketing consent.

Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. Every marketing SMS contains STOP instructions. Requests to unsubscribe are honored within 10 business days as required by CASL. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional messages for active bookings.

If you have not used our services for more than 24 months, we will not send you commercial electronic messages without obtaining your express consent. All marketing emails from Maid Simple include our business name, mailing address, and contact information as required by CASL.

5. PIPEDA Compliance

Maid Simple complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which establishes rules for how private-sector organizations collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of commercial activity.

Maid Simple is responsible for all personal information under our control. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with PIPEDA and can be reached at info@maidsimple.ca for any privacy-related inquiries.

We identify the purpose for collecting your personal information at or before the time of collection. We do not use your information for purposes other than those identified without obtaining your consent first.

We collect only the personal information necessary for the identified purpose. We do not collect information indiscriminately or hold data beyond what is needed.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of the service providers we use to deliver our platform (including payment processing, CRM, and automation tools) may process or store your personal information in the United States or other jurisdictions outside of Canada. When your data is transferred outside of Canada, it remains subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, which may differ from Canadian privacy law. We take reasonable steps to ensure that our service providers protect your information in accordance with PIPEDA and maintain contractual safeguards for data transferred internationally.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Right to Access. You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We will respond within 30 days as required under PIPEDA. Submit your request by emailing info@maidsimple.ca.

Right to Correction. If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, contact us and we will correct it promptly. We may require verification of your identity before making changes.

Right to Deletion. You can request deletion of your personal information. We will comply, subject to any legal retention requirements (such as tax records or insurance documentation). Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

Right to Data Portability. You can request a copy of your personal data in a portable, machine-readable format where technically feasible.

Right to Withdraw Consent. You can withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time — by email, phone, or unsubscribe link. Withdrawal of marketing consent does not affect our ability to send you transactional messages for existing bookings.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for the full duration of your service relationship with Maid Simple, including recurring bookings and Care Plan memberships.

Following your last booking or the end of your service relationship, we retain your data for a period of 24 months. This allows us to assist with warranty claims, insurance inquiries, and re-engagement if you return.

Certain data (including payment records, tax documents, and insurance-related communications) may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Canadian tax and accounting regulations.

Marketing consent and unsubscribe records are retained for at least 3 years to comply with CASL record-keeping requirements.

Phone call recordings are typically retained for up to 12 months, then securely deleted.

Before and after photos taken during a cleaning are retained for up to 90 days following the service, then deleted unless retained in connection with an active claim or dispute.

9. Data Security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). Your data is never sent over unencrypted connections.

Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification. We never transmit or store raw card numbers on our own servers.

Access to customer data within our systems is limited to authorized Maid Simple personnel on a need-to-know basis. Access is role-based and logged.

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and report to the relevant Canadian authority (the Office of the Privacy Commissioner) within the timeframes required by law.

10. Cookies

Essential Cookies. These cookies are required for the website to function. They handle session management, quiz step progress, and popup dismissal preferences. The site cannot function properly without them.

Analytics Cookies. We use analytics cookies to understand website traffic patterns — which pages are visited, how people find us, and where the booking flow can be improved. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Advertising & Retargeting. We may use advertising pixels and tracking technologies from third-party platforms (such as Meta and Google) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and deliver relevant ads to you on other websites and social media platforms. You can manage your ad preferences through your browser settings or through the respective platform's privacy controls.

You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling certain cookies may limit our ability to personalize your experience but will not affect the core booking functionality.

11. Home Privacy

Cleaning professionals are expected to treat all information they observe in your home — including personal items, documents, or conversations — with complete confidentiality. Cleaners may not photograph your home or belongings for personal use.

Cleaners take before and after photos of cleaned areas for quality assurance purposes. By booking a cleaning service, you expressly consent to your Cleaner taking before and after photographs of cleaned areas as described in these Terms. These are retained by Maid Simple for up to 90 days. They are not shared publicly or used for marketing without your explicit written consent.

12. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. By using our website or booking a service, you confirm that you are at least 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

If you believe that a child under 18 has provided Maid Simple with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at info@maidsimple.ca and we will take immediate steps to remove that information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
